Additional Information

Repairs to existing water lines become necessary when the pipes deteriorate on the inside from water corrosion, and on the outside from soil moisture.

Even under the best of conditions, all pipes can be weakened and damaged with time. The repair may surface by way of a loss of water pressure, a water leak, or by poor water quality.

Water service installations require connections from an existing pipe and are often made to a new main or service pipe. Making service connections from a street main to a home is one of the most frequently performed jobs.

Fire hydrants are inspected and maintained at least once a year. However, damage to fire hydrants from frequent use during flushing of water lines, vandalism, or traffic accidents may require immediate attention.
