Benefits

The City of Plant City provides a wide range of benefit options. The City offers funding through “City Contribution” to all benefit-eligible employees. The “City Contribution” is to be used to contribute toward the cost of insurance premiums elected by eligible employees from the City’s offerings of benefits.  The City offers an “opt-out” option to eligible employees who have waived participation in the City’s medical plans. Those who choose this option must be able to show evidence of medical insurance under another medical plan.  If an eligible employee chooses the “opt-out” option, the same monthly contribution amount as Employee Only can be used toward other City-sponsored benefit elections. The “City Contribution” is not available as a cash payment or financial incentive of any kind.

The City contributes $773.00 per month, if health insurance is waived or if single health coverage is elected; $1,126.00, if employee plus spouse health insurance is elected; $1,147.00, if employee plus children health insurance is elected; $1,394.00, if the family level of health insurance is elected.  Insurance choices include the following:
