Plant City to Open Online Permitting Portal

On Tuesday, January 18th, 2022,  contractors, agents, and others will be able to apply for Building, Engineering, and Planning & Zoning applications/permits online. Users will be able to access this online permitting portal from the City’s webpage from the Building, Engineering or Planning & Zoning pages,  or by typing the following address in a web browser: https://h8.maintstar.co/plantcityportal.

Users will be able to apply for applications/permits, pay fees, track permit status, schedule inspections and upload documents to and from the portal.  Users may use the help section located at the bottom of the main page for a step-by-step guide on how to use the portal.

If a user needs any assistance when applying for an application/permit, they may contact the department which the application/permit is associated. Below you will find contact numbers and email addresses for assistance.

Building - 813-659-4254 or Email: bldgemail@plantcitygov.com

Engineering – 813-659-4200 ext. 4123 or Email: engineering@plantcitygov.com

Planning & Zoning – 813-659-4258 or Email: planning@plantcitygov.com

When applications/permits are submitted, they will be reviewed by the department to ensure everything is correctly submitted and that any required documents for that application/permit are attached before moving the application/permit forward. Any changes and/or missing information/documents that are needed that were not included with the application/permit, will result in the applicant being notified via email that items need to be addressed before the permit moves forward.

Portal users will need to have an free account on the online permitting application, this can be done by clicking “Sign Up” from the main page of the portal. Once you submit your request, you can log into the portal and complete the verification process. Once you log into the portal, you will need to click on the “My Profile” tab and then select “Submit Credentials”. Select what type of credentials you are submitting, either Contractor Registration, Authorized Agent Registration, Owner Account Registration, or other type of Applicants. Once the credentials have been reviewed, you will be allowed to apply for applications/permits.

Special notes from permitting departments:

Building

*This is true for all departments

Planning & Zoning

The city will be scheduling a live training session for the portal sometime in February 2022. This will allow anyone who wants to learn more about the portal to come to City Hall and talk with the departments about the process on how to use the online permitting application.

We hope that online permitting provides a smooth experience for you, however, we are still addressing any issues that we come across.  If you have any issues, you may send an email to the department so they can look at the issues and have them corrected.
