Pickin' Wildflowers

GROW A STATE SYMBOL. This fun for all ages class looks at the native beauties that used to cover the entire state. Your group will each receive a copy of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences' Florida Wildflower Coloring Book and follow along as we learn about native, non-native and endangered wildflowers. Afterward, you'll paint a terra cotta pot to your liking and plant some genuine Coreopsis leavenworthii, or Leavenworth's Tickseed.

Sharon Spires, a volunteer for the EE Program, helps students paint. This program is made possible due to grant funding from the Florida Wildflower Foundation. You can support education initiatives like this one by purchasing the Florida Wildflower license plate.
