The park was named on July 24, 1967 in honor of Ronald L. Snowden (November 4, 1953 - August 30, 1964), a young man who devoted his short life to recreational activities in the city, particularly with youth baseball, and exemplified the highest standard of citizenship and sportsmanship.

North - youth league size field: Left 200 feet, Center 245 feet, Right 200 feet
South- senior league size field: Left 285 feet, Center 350 feet, Right 300 feet
1 lighted basketball court
3 picnic pavilions
0.4 mile paved walking trail loop with a 0.2 mile paved trail connector to Grant Street and the Dr. Hal and Lynn Brewer Park and its 0.5 mile trail.
