Information Technology

Services
The Department of Information Technology (I.T.) was established in 1996. The Management Team wanted to create a computer department that was able to deliver IT Services with depth that its department could depend upon to satisfy their technical requirements.

I.T. seeks to offer:

  • Technical expertise
  • Work that will satisfy all of our departments IT requirements
  • Personal attention to City employees
  • The ability to overcome any technical obstacle
  • The ability to react to changes in both planned and unplanned circumstances

We have proved that we can create the edge that the City needs to keep the technical part of Plant City running smoothly. We have created solutions that go beyond traditional parameters, always willing to go that extra mile to ensure that successful solutions are delivered and that problems are solved quickly and professionally.

I.T. is responsible for supporting the information technology needs of administrative offices at City Hall and all other City of Plant City locations. A major responsibility of the department is the City's network.

I.T. staff also supports:

  • Telephone systems
  • Mailings
  • Printing, faxing, and copying systems
  • Cell phone and pager communications

I.T.also monitors all City I.T. purchases for cost efficiency, reliability and effectiveness to ensure the needs of the City and it's departments are being met. I.T. staff maintain several Windows based servers located in the I.T. data center. I.T. staff assists departments operationally by running specific procedures and reports. I.T. supports approximately 400 plus staff, faculty and computers which are connected to the network.
